11.00 – 15.30
Henie Onstad Kultursenter

Join us for an exciting workshop with old-school chip sound, tape music, and collage run by Adam Frankiewicz. During 5 days you will get a unique chance to create audio collages, tape loop work with tape recorders, analog effects and vintage sound systems.

No experience is required! Everyone is invited to participate in an unforgettable event that will allow you to expand your musical skills and discover the fascinating world of old-school chip sound and audio collage.

During the workshop, we will delve into the history of the Polish Radio Experimental Studio and explore various music creation techniques. We will learn how to compose music using trackers such as Protracker Amiga, Gameboy and OPL3 Yamaha. We will explore non-commercial demoscene art and chiptune as an anti-capitalist music genre.

The workshops will cover topics related to low-bitrate flow, compression and the diskette scene. We will learn how to work with 4-bit, 8-bit and 12-bit hardware processing of samples. Additionally, we will discover contemporary notation and cross-platform exchange of musical information, as well as learn how to work with objects.

If you are interested in exploring sounds from the past, creating unique musical compositions and learning different techniques, join us for this extraordinary workshop

Each participant is required to bring their own laptop with headphones for working with emulated sound systems.
